Four lithographed sheets, joined to form two, each measuring 35 x 26 inches. Both sheets with small areas of restoration at left affecting engraved borders & some printed surface; overall very good condition
Finely detailed and generally well-preserved, large-scale Admiralty chart in two sheets of most of the harbor that serves Melbourne. Based on Cox’s 1863 surveys and first published in 1870, it was subsequently updated many times with “small corrections” and a few times with “large corrections,” the most recent being 1897. It was drawn by R. C. Carrington of the Hydrographic Office under the direction of Captain R.Hoskyn.
