3-inch diameter globe anchored in magnifying glass as issued; 5 ½ inches total height. Color-printed, wax-engraved (?) gores; some fading of place names, a few repairs in extreme southern portion, but overall remarkably little wear; overall excellent condition.

[Over-printed along equator:] WORLD'S COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION, CHICAGO, ILL. 3-inch terrestrial globes, 12 lithographed, hand-colored gores mounted over plaster, on nickel-plated, worn, cast iron stand, housing a pencil sharpener; 5 1/4-inch total height. Some abrasion & losses to globe but quite good for such an item.

Rare, Inflatable Terrestrial Globe

Globe/ Cartographic Invention. POCOCK, G. & E. [Bristol, c. 1830]
G. Pocock's Portable Globe Twelve Feet in circumference.

Diameter approx. 48 inches when inflated; two sets of 12 gores on paper, printed by color lithography, 8 5/8-inch diameter ring at base; housed in original case, somewhat worn with some text rubbed away; paper of globe bright and fresh, some wear and worming mainly at base but excellent of this kind.
